First Focus Group with Local Stakeholders Meeting Held as Part of the COOL NOONS Project

On May 27, 2024, the first working meeting of stakeholders in the EU project COOL NOONS, part of the Interreg Euro-MED program, was held at the Dubrovnik Development Agency (DURA).
The meeting was attended by representatives of the administrative departments of the City of Dubrovnik and the Dubrovnik Tourist Board. The workshop aimed to present all relevant information about the project and the main tasks of the pilot activities to be carried out in Dubrovnik.
This focus group marks the beginning of cooperation between DURA and key stakeholders in Dubrovnik, highlighting the importance of working together to create sustainable and innovative solutions in the fight against climate change. Continuing this dialogue will be crucial for the further success of the COOL NOONS project and the achievement of its goals. Key aspects of the project were discussed during the focus group, including the planning of routes known as “COOL PATHS,” which would identify the coolest and least busy routes for moving around Dubrovnik.
The COOL NOONS project aims to support cities in the MED area in adapting to the challenges of climate change while improving the lives of residents and visitors. To achieve this, citizens will participate in decision-making processes and test different solutions. The goal is to reduce the risks associated with climate change that could negatively impact tourism, with the mission to enhance Mediterranean cities and make them more sustainable and attractive for all.
The COOL NOONS project is funded by the Interreg EURO MED program. The total value of the project is EUR 2,346,926.91, and DURA’s budget is EUR 260,558.00. The project is planned to last from January 1, 2024, to October 1, 2026.
